How To Show Up To Your Appointment
How to show up for your perm appointment: Everything you need to know before your visit
Come in with 2-3 day hair
No need to wash your hair before your appointment! .
Here's why:
-I'll be shampooing your hair before your pretreatment anyway.
-I usually do a dry haircut before we get started.
-Freshly washed hair or excessive brushing can overstimulate your scalp, making the perm process less comfortable.
-A little natural oil is perfect but please don't come straight from the gym or with heavily soiled hair.
Come in with 2-3 day hair (cont.)
Before your appointment please detangle your hair well during your last wash
Also skip the deep conditioning treatments or hair masques a week beforehand
You can absolutley wear makeup.... or dont!
If you’re heading somewhere after your appointment, I'd recommend bringing a few touch-up items. During the rinse, a little water can occasionally drip, so it's nice to have your favorites on hand.
Wear something comfortable
Your appointment is a long one, and while I do everything I can to keep you dry and clean, water splashes and little accidents can happen. I'd suggest wearing clothes that aren't extra special to you, just in case!
Jewelry is welcome... but you’ll have to take it off
Necklaces, earrings, and other jewelry often need to come off before we begin. Leaving sentimental or expensive pieces at home can help prevent anything from getting misplaced or damaged.
Bring something to keep yourself entertained
Perm appointments can take several hours, so feel free to bring:
-A book
-Your laptop
-Headphones
-Anything you enjoy doing
I have plenty of long phone chargers available, but you're always welcome to bring your own.
If you get hungry...
There are lots of options during your appointment:
• Grab something from Unrefined on the second floor.
• We can DoorDash your favorite meal.
• I also keep healthy snacks, coffee, tea, and water available
Please wait if you’ve recently had a tattoo or piercing
For your safety, please reschedule if:
You have a fresh tattoo or piercing around your head, neck, or ears.
Your scalp is sunburned.
You have any open cuts, sores, or wounds on your scalp.
If your scalp isn't healthy enough for a perm, I'll need to postpone your appointment until everything has healed. Your hair goals can wait, your health comes first
Now all you have to do is relax
I’ll take care of the rest,
from your haircut and perm to teaching you exactly how to style your new curls before you leave.
